burning man: just add couches

Documentary film, 50 mins., 1998

One year after filming The Burning Man Festival, Joe Winston and his pals return to the desert, sunburned and ready for action.

"What this party really needs is a comfortable living room setting," they proudly declare. "You know, some place where people can sit in the shade, drink beer, and watch television."

"All we need is a tent, some couches, a satellite dish, a generator, and a few other things. Then we just somehow get it all out to the desert and set up shop. Should be pretty easy, right?"

Unfortunately, creating "The Couch Potato Camp" over fifty miles from the nearest hardware store turns out to be harder than it looks...

"An epic of logistical improvisation.... with a droll, slacker sensibility. A must see!"
